I can finally post!
Please review the following over Spring Break:
The Samurai Jack episodes you need to have seen are linked below.
You want to have written a double-spaced page EACH for "Jack, the Woolies and the Chritchellites" and "Jack and the Ultra-Robots." What real-life/real world events or issues do you see reflected in each episode? What are the issues and what in the cartoon is the link to real life? "The Tale of X-9" is told from a different point of view than usual--from the perspective of Jack's would-be assassin. How does the change of storyteller and point of view impact your interpretation of the story? Why? After spring break, I will ask you to combine your analyses and create your own comprehensive analysis of the episodes. This is going to come to at least three pages, after you combine and flesh out your previous writing. This paper is about your personal analysis of Samurai Jack. Don't give me summaries, unless you are explaining (JUST A BIT!) of the storyline in order to illustrate your own theories.
Episodes of Samurai Jack:
"Jack, the Woolies and the
Chritchellites"
"Jack and the
Ultra-robots"
"The Tale of X-9"
Think about your smart story! Instead of rewriting your previous homework over break, I would like you to work on your "smart" stories!!!
We will have a future post outlining extra credit options for students.
Please ask any questions about these or other assignments in the comments section.
What exactly is the smart story? What is to come of the Religion Vs Religion essays we wrote?
